Vanessa Williams
Executive Director
Vanessa Williams' life has known nothing but compassion and care for the
Elderly. Her mom was the 13th of 16 children, so she came into this world with
a great abundance of family members, many already reaching their golden
years. She cared for the needs of family members her entire life, to include
her grandmother who lived to the age of 106, and her mother who is currently
a young 91!
Vanessa is a very organized, high-performance driven individual and has
successfully worked in many different capacities over the years. Working with
the President and Vice-President of TORCH (Texas Organization of Residential
Care Homes) over the past 3 years helped her realize where her heart really
lies. Vanessa is currently the North Texas TORCH President for 2008. Around the Clock Residential Care Home is a dream fulfilled and an
accomplishment Vanessa knows was reached through hard work,
compassion and through her passion for God. Vanessa is a graduate of
Huston Tillotson College-Austin and is dedicated to the care and assistance of
the Elderly and disabled individual.
Around the Clock assisted living options offer personalized assistance,
supportive services, and compassionate care in a professionally managed,
carefully designed home setting. It's the perfect alternative for seniors and
disabled individuals who can no longer live on their own, yet do not want to
live in a large, impersonal institutionalized care setting.
Doris McKnight was born in Hope, Arkansas, the 2nd oldest of four children.
She graduated with honors from H.C. Yeger High School and did her
post-graduate work at Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. She
majored in Business Administration with a minor in Secretarial Science.
After leaving Philander Smith, she worked as a paralegal with a major law firm.
She married and moved to Garland, Texas in 1975 and became employed in
the Trust Department of a bank. She retired after 22 successful years with a
major insurance company where she received many awards for outstanding
accomplishments.
Doris helped care for her aging sister who often needed assistance with her
daily living. Since she, herself, is a senior citizen, she became concerned
about doing something to help seniors maintain their dignity by providing an
alternative to nursing homes. Around the Clock Residential Care Home has
been the answer to those concerns. Her compassion, experience and
business sense is a great asset to our company.
